The Stewards received a report from Mr W. Flemming, Turf Club Clerk of the Scales, regarding the fact that G.P. Brouder, rider of King Of Oriel, trained by Donal Kinsella, had requested to weigh out at 2 lbs overweight. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned in the presence of Aidan Wall, authorised representative for the trainer. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards allowed the overweight, but were satisfied that rider was in breach of Rule 198(vii)(a) and having considered his record, fined him ?150. The Stewards also received a report that the rider had attempted to weigh out for this race without wearing a body protector. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned, who accepted that this was the case. Having considered the evidence, the stewards were of the opinion that the rider was in breach of Rule 198(v) and having considered his record, suspended him for seven race days. S.B. Kelly, rider of Fantastic Dilly trained by M. Keane, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount hung badly left handed.
