He's had two racecourse gallops recently and we knew he was in a good place and he got all the breaks today. He has an entry for the Royal Hunt Cup and there was no point going to Ascot unless he was in that frame of mind and it was a lovely day to give him a blow out. There was no way we were going to Ascot fresh and it was a nice pipe opener. The Stewards enquired into an incident before the turn into the straight involving Six Of Hearts (GB), ridden by T.P. Madden, Ballyorban, ridden by J.A. Heffernan, and Jembatt, ridden by S. Corby, where it appeared Ballyorban ran short of room on the rail and checked. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards found any interference to be accidental in nature and took no further action. Mr. William Ross, accompanied apprentice T.P. Madden, and Mr. Michael Mulvany accompanied apprentice S. Corby at this enquiry.
An extended handicap for four yrs old and upwards (90 = 9st 10lb) Weights - Top weight in the original handicap shall not; be less than 9st 10lb Penalties - (after calculation of the handicap) A winner shall carry 5lb extra for each race won Any horse rated above 90 shall initially be treated as having that rating and the highest weight allotted shall be 9st 10lb. Subsequently, the excess over 90 in any rating shall be added to the weight allotted to that horse.
