Gary Paul Halpin, rider of Placere trained by Richard Brabazon, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount ran short of room in running. J.A. Heffernan, rider of Next Bend, trained by Thomas Gibney, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount was unsuited by the slow pace of the race. The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Seeyouallincoppers, trained by Gordon Elliott, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.
An extended handicap for four yrs old and upwards (70 = 10st) Penalties - (after calculation of the handicap) A winner shall carry 5lb extra; for each race won. Any horse rated above 70 shall initially be treated as having that rating and the highest weight allotted shall be 10st. Subsequently, the excess over 70 in any rating shall be added to the weight allotted to that horse.
