A 16/1 shock as the outsider of the five runners made a successful debut against her odds-on stable companion.

For a few strides inside the final quarter mile it appeared that Aine would fulfill the position her market price suggested. However the penny suddenly dropped and she picked up well to go through a gap a furlong out and, despite running green, quickened up nicely to win a shade comfortably. She is by Danehill Dancer, whose progeny invariably like cut in the ground, and is out of the Listed winning sprinter Antinnaz.

Daring Man went right coming out of the stalls but didn't lose much ground, and held every chance on the stands side inside the final furlong under her inexperienced claiming rider.

The uneasy 4/5 favourite The Loan Express raced quite keenly up with the pace but found disappointingly little when asked for maximum effort inside the final furlong. Third in the Queen Mary at Royal Ascot last term, she would prefer better ground but this was still a disappointing effort.

Remind Me Monday was another with the choke full out galloping up in the air, and he cried enough inside the furlong marker. Ability N Delivery raced very keenly in the early stages, and it was no surprise to see him drop away as the race really developed from the furlong pole.
