A.E. Lynch, rider of Muroor (GB) trained by T.G.McCourt, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount caught a rail prior to the start and his mount showed no interest thereafter
The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Buck Dancing, trained by Patrick G.Kelly, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal
The Stewards enquired into an incident prior to the start involving Buck Dancing, ridden by D.N. Russell, Bay Hill, ridden by J.S. McGarvey, Divin Desir (FR), ridden by R.A. Doyle, Muroor (GB), ridden by A.E. Lynch, Coole Craft, ridden by A. Ring, and Eusebius, ridden by L.P. Dempsey, where it appeared Muroor (GB) collided with the running rail when proceeding onto the racetrack. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned and from IHRB Starter, Mr. D. Cullen. A.E. Lynch stated that his mount got tight for room when coming to the gap in the running rail. He had wished to be handy but was shuffled back due to the incident with the rail. The consensus from the other riders was that they came onto the track as normal but that Muroor (GB) got squeezed onto the rail on the approach to the gap. They felt that perhaps a slight curve to the rail may help to funnel horses onto the track in future, rather than at a 90 degree angle. Mr. D. Cullen stated that while he saw some railing had become dislodged, the riders were called forward and came forward without protest whereby he started the race. Having viewed the recording of the incident, listened to the audio recording from the start, and considered the evidence, the Stewards referred the matter to the IHRB CEO to address the concerns of the interested parties
The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Muroor (GB), trained by T.G.McCourt, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to have a small superficial wound to its left fore cannon when examined post race.
