On his second start for Noel Meade in first time blinkers, Rocheford Bridge (he?d previously been equipped with cheek-pieces) came good. He was in front at the last and stayed on better than nearest challengers, Akinola, headed when not great there, and the gambled-on Tiamo.

Meade said, ?the ground was a help as he is a summer type and seeing as his owner (Robert Bagnall) is from Kinnegad, Kilbeggan will be his next stop.?

Akinola struck on from three out but he couldn?t sustain his gallop, eventually yielding to the winner before the last. He kept going well enough for second and this hardy type, who has been on the go since his juvenile days, will have further pay days.

Tiamo (8s into 7/2) not for the first time, was the subject of support, and he had every chance on this better ground. Got The Urge couldn?t raise his effort when it mattered, but finished out his race better than anything else. He has had plenty of chances but these improved underfoot conditions seemed to suit him well and he is a winner waiting to happen, probably when going a bit further.

Thats My Pet pulled up after the fourth, something amiss one would have to presume (lame post race). Black Mac (injured) and Another Ambition (stone bruise) were non-runners.
