Shane said it just took her a while to realise what she was doing but she came between the two horses and put her head down. He gave her two slaps and that was all. We’ve always liked her and thought she could run very well but wasn’t sure if she could win this evening. She’s a lovely filly, and will have learned plenty in behind. The Stewards enquired into an incident in the closing stages of this race involving A New Dawn, ridden by W.M
Lordan, Royal Affair, ridden by S.M. Crosse, and Sunday Sweet, ridden by W.J. Lee, where it appeared that Royal Affair hung left causing interference. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned, in the presence of Joseph O' Brien, trainer, accompanying S.M. Crosse. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that any incident was accidental in nature and they therefore took no further action
T.P. Madden, rider of Sea The Dawn trained by Adrian Paul Keatley, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount was slowly away
