DUN BELLE MAGIC, a heavy ground maiden hurdle winner at Sligo last year, obviously enjoyed this testing surface to cause a surprise following a six months break. She picked up really well after the final flight, heading the long-time leader For A Song a furlong out before drawing clear.

She is out of the useful chaser Dun Belle and, with just seven career starts under her belt, could be of interest over fences in time.

FOR A SONG is certainly better over fences than hurdles and was far from fluent with his jumping including at the last. If he can brush up his technique, he's still well handicapped.

DARLING HARBOUR made some headway to challenge after two out on his handicap debut but could only stay on one paced. He should benefit from this experience and can win a modest handicap, while PRINCESS NICOLE would appreciate better ground. She put up a fair performance in the circumstances, and is one to note when the weather improves.

SWIFT SAILING attracted some interest at morning prices and was prominent until weakening quickly from the last. He's another for whom better ground would be a plus.

MHILU could never get on terms staying on one paced in sixth, while BELLA'S BAILEYS and MINNESOTA LEADER were both supported in the ring but never looked like giving supporters any real hope.
