The Stewards requested a report from William Durkan, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Screaming Colours, placed first, as compared with its recent run. Michael Fitzsimons, Authorised representative of William Durkan reported that this animal had won a Point to Point before making his racecourse appearance at Fairyhouse on the 27th January where he jumped very novicey after a mistake at the first fence and was off the bridle passing the stands in that 2 mile 5 furlong race. He added that a tongue strap was applied the last day as the animal had been known to gurgle but today it was left off. In his opinion the shorter distance of 2 miles and his very good jumping kept him in a good position and he appeared to just stay on past horses that had raced prominently throughout. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the content of the report.
