It was reported at a Stewards Enquiry that Important Message (GB), was found to have lost a shoe post race
The Stewards requested a report from John Joseph Murphy, trainer as to the apparent improvement in form of Emperor Waltz (GB), placed first, as compared with its recent form. Mr. G. Murphy, Authorised Representative, reported that this horse doesn't appreciate very deep ground and today's ground on the easy side of good seemed to suit him. He also noted that the stable seems to be in better form latterly. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the contents of the report
