The Stewards interviewed P. Keating, authorised representative of A.P.O'Brien, trainer of Nutcracker Suite, in relation to the excuse of 'sold' offered for non-running and the late withdrawal of the horse. Evidence was heard from the trainer's representative who stated that this filly had travelled to today's meeting as normal but on arrival he had been contacted by the trainer to say that the filly had now been sold and the new owners didn't wish to fulfil tonight's engagement. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards allowed the withdrawal of Nutcracker Suite, accepted the explanation offered and took no further action. Mr. Neville O'Byrne, Chairman, absented himself from this enquiry and Justice Tony Hunt, acted as Chairman. The Stewards informed A.P.O'Brien, trainer that Alphabet (GB), would have to be recertified before being declared to run from stalls again.
