An enquiry was held to consider interference shortly after the start when Danzeno (GB), placed second, ridden by Ray Dawson, interfered with Danzan (IRE), placed third, ridden by Duran Fentiman.
Dawson was cautioned for careless riding as he allowed his mount to shift left-handed towards the far rail without timely correction causing Fentiman to take a slight check off the heels of Recon Mission (IRE), placed sixth.
Following the race, Jim Crowley reported that Hamish Macbeth (GB), which started favourite and finished unplaced, became fractious in the stalls and anticipated the start causing him to be marginally slow when removing the blindfold and Dougie Costello reported that Dazzling Dan (IRE), placed fourth, was a denied a clear run approximately 1 1/2 furlongs out.
