At the request of the Stewards, D.N. Russell, rider of Grotesque (GB), trained by Gordon Elliott, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount got tight for room in the back straight
At the request of the Stewards, P.D. Kennedy, rider of Wings Like Arion, trained by Mrs John Harrington, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount got a bump in the back straight
At the request of the Stewards, J.W. Kennedy, rider of Smithscorner, trained by Michael G. Kennedy, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount met with accidental interference
The Stewards interviewed B. Arthey, authorised representative of S.R.B. Crawford, trainer, regarding the late arrival of his charges Schmidt and Curious Times into the Parade Ring. Evidence was heard from the authorised representative who stated that he was saddling both horses and having saddled Schmidt, Curious Times was unsettled, difficult to saddle and B. Arthey lost track of time. Having considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that B. Arthey was in breach of Rule 32(ii) in that his charges were late into the parade ring. Having considered the trainer's clean record in this regard, the stewards fined S.R.B. Crawford ?200.
