he won his point-to-point by a distance first-time out and then finished second over hurdles but afterwards lost his way a bit. He had a hairline fracture to his shin and had a year off and it has now taken a few runs to be back to himself. He'll run in the Galway Blazers next if he gets in and my other horse Foildubh, which runs on the flat at Ballinrobe tomorrow and is in good form, will hopefully get into the Galway Plate. N.M. Kelly, rider of Old Laxey, trained by J.T.R.Dreaper, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount clipped heels before turning into the home straight. The Stewards interviewed M.P. Burke, rider of Kylecrue, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that the rider was in breach of Regulation 10.(3)(e), in that he had used his whip other than down the shoulder or the hind quarters and having considered his record, cautioned him.
