Mr lands a Right gamble

I'm delighted to get him back into the winning groove. I'm a big admirer of these open handicaps when an 84 rated horse can get into a 0-80 handicap, especially when you gave a talented 5lbs claimer (O'Connor) to get him down into the handicap proper. He didn't do an awful lot right but had the class to stay going and I'm hoping I can get him into a Premier Handicap during the middle of the season. If you saw him at home, you'd be running him over five and he's the fastest horse I have but I think anywhere between six, seven (furlongs) or an easy mile would suit him best.

She's a good filly - I was surprised with her the last day as I haven't had her away from the yard much but I was expecting her to do well today. I'd say she's above average after that and I'd say she'll improve. I've no race in mind and I'll probably be lucky to hold on to her as the owner might want to sell her. She's probably for sale if we get enough for her. She was green still today and wouldn't want it any quicker than today.

Before racing, I thought the ground would be a bit dead but my goodness, it was never in doubt! . Niall (McCullagh) said he is a horse who could go all the way and was delighted with him. There's a Listed race at Navan next week for him - he'd get six (furlongs) but is special over five and that's his trip.

That was a great performance as it was her first time on the track and she was racing against some mares who were handicapped over hurdles. She only had three runs in point-to-points and she learned a lot the last day when they went a ferocious gallop in a race with ten previous winners. She jumped so well and it stood to her and we've no plan from today. I bred her myself and she is owned by James O'Doherty, from Clonmel, who owns Shamrock Enterprises, which sells all those good products (nutritional feed supplements for cattle)

He's a fine horse and I just took my time with him and he needed all of it. He's a noble looking horse and I'd like to run him in the Ladies Cup at Punchestown next - I've never seen a horse to jump banks like him!. Patsy Davern is involved in the Don't Go There Syndicate and I'm delighted for him as he has had horses with me for years.

He was very free in the Foxhunters at Aintree and just ran himself into the ground. Two and a half miles is his maximum trip and Jamie got him to 'spit it out' - that's this great expression I understand to mean 'relax'. Jamie did the brave thing at the last and the horse in fairness answered him. I don't think there's another hunters' chase at that distance for him now and he might go back handicap chasing now or else could be sold. Like us all, Mr Potts (owner) wants good horses and he's a nice horse but won't be any better. We're five miles from Fairyhouse but going there would be way too simple so I was sent here, Thomas (son) went to Antrim (Loughanmore point to point) and we had a point to point winner at Stradbally.
