I don't know when the last time I had a winner over hurdles was (in fact his Love Rory won a maiden hurdle at this year's Listowel Festival). This horse broke his knee in a banks race at Punchestown around this time last year. He ran well the last day and I thought this trip would suit him. He will probably go for a three mile hurdle around Christmas time and then go chasing.

The fact he stays so well was a big help to him today. He was very free but he has learned to settle now and you can ride a race on him. He is just improving. I had intended to go to Cork for the three mile hurdle there (Grade 3 Cork Stayers Hurdle on December 9th) but that may come a bit soon.

He idled a little bit in front but Davy was very happy with him. He will probably come back here for the Grade 1 Navan Novice Hurdle (Sunday December 16th) which is over two and a half miles. We will definitely be stepping him up in trip. We will take it one step at a time with him and it's nice to get that race out of the way.

I don't think he will be a National horse as the ground is bound to be too good by then. That was a good performance by a novice. He jumps well, stays well and loves that ground. He really goes on it. I'm not sure what we will do with him now, it depends on what Noel O'Brien does. He should improve again.

He had such a hard race the last day that we had to go easy on him. I decided to come back in trip and it worked out on that ground. Davy was delighted with him and he jumped great. I told Davy to take his time and for once he listened to me! . I think this is a hell of a horse and he was unlucky the last day. The original plan was to go for the Drinmore had he won the last day but I'm not sure where he will go now. We will have to see how he fits in with the other Gigginstown horses.

It's hard to beat pedigree. She is from the family of Aries Girl (eight time winner in the nineties for Pat Flynn). She was unlucky at Mallow. It wasn't her jockey's fault. They just went for a gap and didn't get it. She is owned by a neighbour of mine, Gerard Burke. He always seems to have a few nice horses. He had the likes of Snap Tie in the past.
