Down Royal Tue, 23rd Jan, 2024  Irish Blaze I thought he was going too quick during the race but, in fairness, Carl (Millar) sat up and gave him a breather down to the second-last. He finished very strong. I thought he'd go close, but I didn't think he would win that easily (by 6.5 lengths). I'd say he will stay further, he might improve going even up in trip so we'll probably give that a try next time. We might stick him into a big enough handicap chase off a low weight and see how it goes. He jumps brilliantly which wasn't always the way with him. Davy Condon rides him out at home every morning on his own because he is a difficult horse to ride and does a great job.

Naas Thu, 14th Dec, 2023  Money Heist He was gutsy to get back up and he jumped well everywhere bar the last two. He loves that ground. He travelled well with the cheekpieces on and I wouldn’t think he needs much further. I don’t know if he’s a horse that would back it up quickly as he didn’t after Galway (last year), so we won’t be in a hurry to get him back out again.

Navan Sat, 9th Dec, 2023  We'llhavewan We weren't sure about the ground but we stuck cheek pieces on him and we were getting in with a light weight. It was great prize-money so we took our chance and it's brilliant. It's a brilliant pot. We were a little disappointed in Cheltenham and thought that was maybe as good as he is but maybe the cheek pieces brought about more improvement. He's rated lower over fences but he didn't jump fantastic over fences before. Paul came in there and said he might be better now so we might look at something over fences next.
