Silver Service I was a bit disappointed with her Thursday as I thought that race was there to be won. The went a bit hard early on then. She was entered up here and I decided we let her take her chance. We had a little doubt whether she'd stay seven because early on in the year we thought she didn't. That's why we were taking her back in trip but maybe we were making a mistake and should just have been riding her differently. She had a problem with a trapped epiglottis and that held us up for a couple of months. She's probably only getting to full fitness now.

Toughari Shane Foley rode him in Roscommon and said to put a pair of blinkers on him, go out in trip and he’ll win. Then a hurdle race came up in Killarney and it didn’t work out as the favourite wandered about and frightened my lad.

Ideal Pal He’s a good tough genuine horse. He ran well in Galway and finished well up the hill. The slower ground helped him today. I’m not sure where we will go with him now. We are thinking about going over hurdles but we’ll have to wait and see. He’s a nice big horse. He’s had a good few runs so we’ll have to freshen him up.

Take My Hand She's been a model of consistency all year and has been improving all the time. I think she's going to be a nice filly next year because she's just growing and filling into her frame. You'd be hoping that it would be onwards and upwards. It's been a very good day. It's nice to have a double and this has been a lucky meeting for us. These Tough As Nails horses, when they get into a battle nine times out of ten they come out on top. What they don’t have in ability they make up for in pure determination, which is a great thing in a horse. I know I run my horses often, but we don’t kill them at home after. If you didn’t run them you’d have to be bringing them somewhere to gallop them anyway. They do most of their work on the racecourse.

Talking Tough Billy (Lee) said they went good and hard early on and when he hit the hill, the rising ground helped him. He did the same at Sligo when he finished well and that is the secret to him. We are giving him plenty of racing but he is still a little ball of a horse and saves a little bit for himself all the time. We'll have to think about running him again later in the week with him. It's a different feeling to have a winner tonight - normally there'd be an army load of us who'd come up for the week and would give it welly; some are still coming (to Galway) but they're not here and can't really enjoy it.

Take My Hand She'll probably come back here next Thursday all being well. There is a 45-65 for her and she gave the impression there that she will stay the mile. If she's anything like her mother (three-time winner The Silver Crown)she'll only get tougher.
