Meet The Team
Gary Carson
Began working with the now defunct Sporting Life newspaper & has compiled results, betting data and comments-in-running with www.p2p.ie . Joined Irish Racing Services in 2003.
Responsibilities: Compiles comments-in-running and also maintains the website.
Background: Northerner Gary has ridden in point to points and regularly rides out for trainer John Quinn on The Curragh. His brother, Stephen Carson, is a well known British based Flat jockey.
Vincent Finegan
Editor of www.irishracing.com. Joined Irish Racing Services, from Phonavation, in 1989 having previously worked for Extel. Took over as editor of Irish Racing Services's www.irishracing.com in January 2008.
Responsibilities: Responsible for managing business relations with clients and partners. Also has overall responsibility for site content.
Background: Vincent has won The Irish Field Naps Press Competition in 2006 & 2008, and is the author of the site's 'Whispers' section. Vincent is married to Linda and they live on The Curragh with their two daughters.
Sarah Ann Madden
Joined in April 2003, having worked in AIB.
Responsibilities: Updates results, news stories and is responsible for the daily running of the website.
Background: Sarah Ann is a daughter of trainer Niall Madden and sister to jockey Niall 'Slippers' Madden. An expert shopper with an outrageous laugh, Sarah Ann's racing colours were carried to success at Ballinrobe in May '06 with Teknash.
Alan Magee
Joined 1997. Previously worked as an SP bookmaker and has also worked for The Sporting Life and Turf Form.
Responsibilities: Alan returns S.P.s and is responsible for the updating of www.irishracing.com .
Background: Alan has often been mistaken for Aidan O'Brien and was once asked to train a horse at Tralee races. A good golfer and long-suffering Manchester City supporter, Alan is married to Imelda.
Eamonn Murphy
Joined September 2002. Previously worked with point to point's Formcard and has reported for The Irish Field.
Responsibilities: Updates the website and is responsible for results, news stories and comments-in-running.
Background: A lifelong racing fan, Eamonn's interest in point to points is strong and he rarely misses a meeting on free Sundays. A familiar face at Enniscorthy dogs, Eamonn is married to Jane and they have two young kids.
Thomas Weekes
Joined May 2003. Previously worked with point to point's Formcard and has reported for The Irish Field.
Responsibilities: Updates results, news stories and compiles comments-in-running. Also responsible for the daily running of the website.
Background: Thomas has ridden in bumpers/point to points and rode a point to point winner in '05. A cousin of jockeys Robbie, Andrew and John Thomas McNamara. He is a survivor of two marathons.
