Doonard Prince It's great for a ten-year-old that had kind of went wrong on us during the summer and had fallen back down to this mark,. It was the same mark he had fell down to two years ago when he won two at the Curragh. He climbed back up again then. Mikey gave him a peach of a ride. I'm sure he's going to ride loads to winners because he was real cool on him, exactly to instructions. He ran better than his finishing position last time, only beaten four lengths on good to firm. If you look back all his form is on soft ground and he got it today. There is a race here again in two weeks time and if we can just keep the momentum up he could climb again like those sprinters do. They get down to a level and then go again. It's great to have him and great for John Bowden. He's with me from the start. Most fellas when a sprinter like him gets to ten years of age they start losing faith. He was the first winner John ever had and he won five for him. He hung in there all summer long even at some stages when we were scratching our heads and wondering if he was going to come back to himself. It's great to get it and it'll keep the show on the road.

Theatre World It seems to be suiting front-runners today. It's the best he ever travelled, he was just a happy horse today,. Luke gave him a great ride and got the fractions right in front. He just enjoyed it all the way, the ground is good and he stacked them all up behind him and had another go. He's a very consistent horse but hadn't travelled very well in his races and that's what has let him down, but today he travelled great and he'll be a lovely horse over a fence. It's great to have a winner at Navan at the start of the season. I'd say he wants a bit of nice ground, he mightn't go on heavy ground but we could get well into the start of October to mid-November before it changes too much. I'd definitely keep him going when he's in that sort of form. It's great for the Monroes. Rob Monroe is here, his father John died in the summer and he bought this horse. There are loads of memories attached to him. He's after getting off the phone to his mother and she's crying at home. A horse like that keeps the memories going.

Western Sea He loved it and jumped great. A couple of times he was keen last year so we decided to drop him in to relax and he completely goes asleep,. When he’s ridden competitively like that he comes alive. We learned that the last day in Tramore where he just got beat, and we said we’d wait for this race as it’s his bracket for horses rated 109 or less (over hurdles). Hopefully he’ll give us a bit of fun over fences, and the fact that he won over 2m5f today means there are a few more options for him going a trip. I’m lucky to have Tommy Ward in the yard. He’s from Mountmellick and ever since he came to us he’s given the yard a great boost. Hopefully we’ll have a bit more luck for him.
