Unexpected Depth Kevin gave him a grand ride. We were hopeful enough. He seems to be improving a bit and he’s definitely settling better. It’s his first time in a handicap but I’m not sure if he’s going to be a soft ground horse so we might not have that much more racing to do with him this year if the ground changes. Kevin said it’s sticky enough ground over the far side.

Presto we were borderline running him because of the ground, we thought it wasn't just the way he wants it and he wants really good ground. I thought it was a nice performance. We did a bit of work with him the other morning and Shane rode him so he knew him, he knew what his strengths and weaknesses might be. Down at the bottom of the hill I thought he had it all to do but he stayed on strong. He is just getting his act together and you probably wouldn't be running every couple of weeks, let him relax and settled and go back to himself. After the last day it took him a while to settle again after it but that was his first race so he was entitled to that. Where we go now I don't know we're just happy with today.

Cappuccino Man he was a horse that had a lot of troubles all his life. I didn't think he travelled well the last day in Sligo but then it was soft ground and I put it down to that, or maybe he is getting a bit cute. It was probably a moderate enough race and and hopefully he will improve another little bit and he might jump a fence later on. We said we'd come here and see how he goes in a maiden hurdle. He's handicapped but he's on the high side. It was a handicap he ran in in Sligo so I said maybe 2m5f might suit him better in a maiden hurdle.

Unexpected Depth We're delighted with that because he's a horse that has taken us a while to get him where he is today,. He was a very highly strung type of horse. The last day in Ballinrobe a horse fell beside him at the first and I think both the jockey and the horse got a fright and it didn't help him. He has settled there now and has a better way of travelling, he doesn't take as much out of himself. In fairness this evening's race probably wasn't as good a race as the one in Ballinrobe. The ground was probably okay for him. We'll keep him going for a while and might look for a novice somewhere.
