2012 Season Under Starters Orders at Tipperary Racecourse

Admission prices for 2012 have been revised and are set at €10 for adults, €8 for students and seniors while under 18’s are FREE for all fixtures.
Membership to the Supporters Club has also been reduced and offers great value at €100 for adults and €70 for students and seniors. The Supporters Club offers includes admission to all fixtures, a €5 food or betting voucher for each fixture attended as well many social trips including to the Punchestown Festival on Saturday 28th April and to Coolmore Stud on Thursday 24th May followed by racing at Tipperary.
Commenting on the changes Jane Davis, Manager of Tipperary Racecourse said:- “It is an exciting time of year for our team and committee at Tipperary Racecourse with the first of our eleven fixtures just over a week away. We are very pleased to announce our new pricing and hope that it is welcomed by our customers. We are committed to delivering a value for money entertainment experience at Tipperary and can’t wait to get under way next Thursday, which for the first time is a mixed card with both flat and hurdle races. Information on pricing, where to eat and drink at the racecourse, travel and much more is all available on www.tipperaryrace.ie.”
Some of the highlights on the events calendar this spring at Tipperary include the Point to Point Evening on the 24th May and a Youth Raceday featuring the R.A.C.E (Racing Academy and Centre of Education) simulator and Front Runner Racing Club for Kids on the 7th June.
The Racecourse has a strong affiliation with Tipperary Town and this year will host the Launch of the Pride of Tipperary Festival during racing on Thursday 28th June.
The Racecourse will also join Tipperary Town to celebrate the 100 year anniversary of the song ‘It’s a Long Way to Tipperary’ with a ten day festival in July; the festival finale will take place again at the races on Saturday 14th July.
Ballykisteen Hotel and theFASHIONshed.com have been announced at the sponsors of the Best Dressed Lady event at Tipperary which will take place on Summer Sunday 22nd July. The Best Dressed Lady will be judged this year by presenter of RTE’s ‘Off the Rails’ Brendan Courtney.
Another new addition on Ladies Day at Tipperary will be a heat for ‘Who Wants To Be A Milliner’ a hat design competition being run by Best Dressed Lady Judge Brendan Courtney. The winners will go through to the final which will be judged by Philip Treacy and whose work will go on sale in Arnotts later in the year
Jane Davis also said: - “Fashion and family fun are synonymous with Irish racing and we look forward to combining both on Summer Sunday. Each of the weekend fixtures at Tipperary Racecourse will feature thrilling racing as well as a full schedule of Family Fun activities. We hope to offer an entertaining and affordable day out for friends and families, with all Under 18’s going free.”
New to the schedule this year is Fillies Friday Night Out at Tipperary for Action Breast Cancer on Friday 10th August. The programme will include a ladies race staring the jockeys featured in ‘Racing’s Leading Ladies’ campaign.
There is much more to look forward to towards the rear of the season with a Breeders Social Evening including the newly upgraded Group 3 Fairy Bridge Stakes on Thursday 23rd August and then the highly anticipated Super Sunday and Family Fun Raceday on October 7th.
