The gelded son of Diamond Green was clear when, in common with the winner of the first race, veering left inside the final furlong. However winning jockey 17 year old Ross Coakley (his fifth winner) was quick to get the back on an even keel, winning well from Judies Child.
Afterwards McConnell said “that was nice! He is quite a tall horse and maybe he is starting to fill out. Hopefully he'll 'go in' again and I'm delighted with that.
“He likes the polytrack but I think he'll also go on quick ground. He might go for a five furlongs three year old handicap in the first meeting at Bellewstown next.”
Conor Hoban, on board Alvar who finished last of the fourteen runners, reported that his charge reared on leaving stalls and lost ground.
