FormscanBy Donal Murphy - Given the conditions of the race, this is unsurprisingly a very weak contest. The Denis Hogan trained ABSENTEE put in a decent performance at Wexford on her last start, and she is the one I'll side with. She finished fourth in a good quality bumper at Bettyville, with the well-fancied Patriciadeplasterer a place behind her in fifth. That was her first run in exactly a year, and she can be expected to come on plenty for it. The John Joe Walsh trained Krisdenoel is given second preference with Ambrose McCurtin taking five pounds off. This daughter of Scorpion is in fact a full-sister to Jack The Wire who is trained by Hogan. Her best effort to date came at Thurles in November, finishing fourth to Gun Digger in a bumper, with subsequent Navan winner Rio Vivas a neck in front of her in third. Blondes No More wasn't beaten far at Bellewstown on her last start, and she looks to have solid each-way claims here, while others for the shortlist are Lady Of The Sea, Cailean's Angel, and Miss Echrad.
