FormscanBy Gary Carson - FRANCIN looks the pick here after finishing a fine third at Leopardstown over Christmas in a strong race. The form looks very good with the winner Cobbler's Way finishing second in Grade 1 company subsequently and the runner-up Sempo winning in good style at Thurles recently. That third-placed effort was a nice step up from his comeback run here in November and he can strike now. Pure Genius looks a threat having shown up well on his two starts since arriving from France. He set a strong pace over two miles here in December and just weakened a touch late on to finish third. It's interesting that connections step him up in trip now. The Very Man has been running in some hot maiden hurdles and looks another that has to be considered.
