The point-to-point winner was hailed as one of the Irish bankers going to Cheltenham last term but raced far too keenly when soundly beaten in the Festival opener, the Sky Bet Supreme Novices’ Hurdle. He bounced back in typical front-running style to land a second Grade 2 over hurdles at the Fairyhouse Easter meeting before disappointing again back here later that month. Articulum, Call A Cab and Ministerforsport are a trio of interesting rivals. Articulum looked a classy sort earlier in his career winning a point-to-point and two bumpers before sidelined by injury. He made an impressive return in a Cork maiden hurdle last season but the remainder of the campaign was a bit disappointing and it will be fascinating to see how he copes here. Ministerforsport won three times between the flags before winning a further three (bumper/2 hurdles) under rules.
