FormscanBy Tom Weekes - STRATUM was beaten 33L on his latest hurdles run but should improve dramatically from that run and might win. Winner of the 2019 English Cesarewitch, he was second in last August's Group 2 Lonsdale Cup at York before finishing 20th of 23 in November's Melbourne Cup. His February reappearance was undistinguished but as a result comes here race-fit, with connections likely to have ear-marked today's race for some weeks. Master Of Reality is high-class but lacks a recent outing. Third in the 2019 Ascot Gold Cup and fourth in that year's Melbourne Cup, he finished ahead of STRATUM when 15th in last November's Australian race. His earlier 2020 form had been good, winning a September Listed race on soft ground at Down Royal, and while his presence in an early-season race suggests he has wintered well, his lack of a recent outing is a small negative. Falcon Eight is a lightly-raced but smart stayer who seems fairly ground-versatile, although he hasn't raced since June.
