FormscanBy Gary Carson - DARVER STAR has improved hand over fist this summer and with an official mark now of 145 he's the one to beat in this two-and-a-half mile contest. It was a really good performance to beat a decent field of handicappers by a cosy five lengths at Killarney last month and he looks good value for a mark this high. Doctor Duffy is becoming a bit expensive to follow and blotted his copybook when running out at Down Royal last time. He has shown some good form and is capable of running a big race here but has a few pounds to find with Darver Star. Ash Hill was well held stepping up in company last time at Galway while Born By The Sea and Think Positive look to have a lot more on their plates now after maiden hurdle wins last time out.
