He went down by just a length to leading Gold Cup fancy Our Duke in the Red Mills Chase on his last start, and he steps back up to three miles now with Davy Russell again in the saddle. The Henry de Bromhead trained Monalee is an obvious danger. He finished a good second in the Albert Bartlett here last year, and has won two of his four starts since. He was ahead of the selection when they clashed over flights at the Punchestown Festival, and he put in a determined display when scoring on his last start at the Dublin Racing Festival. Al Boum Photo was just three parts of a length behind Monalee there, and he re-opposes now with Ruby Walsh in the saddle. The ultra-consistent Black Corton looks the best of the home team. He is a dual course and distance winner, and it would come as little surprise if he managed to continue his winning streak here.
