FormscanBy Alan Magee - Two miles and testing ground around here has suited DR MIKEY well in the past and perhaps the lightly-raced ten-year-old can add to his impressive course form. The Margaret Flynn-trained gelding won a bumper at this venue, and also made all to score twice over hurdles at this course and distance. His chasing debut defeat of A Plus Tard at Gowran Park back in November obviously reads very well now, and he reverts to hurdles after some mistakes in two outings since. Three of his rivals also revert back from fences after failing to live up to expectations to varying degrees. Landofhopeandglory could be the most interesting as he's only raced once over hurdles since filling the runner-up spot behind Bapaume in the AES Champion 4YO Hurdle at the Punchestown Festival in 2017. Poly Rock handled soft ground well when taking a Clonmel maiden on debut last spring, and the very lightly-raced gelding now reappears after a five-month break having failed to fire on his only subsequent start at Galway.
