He hasn’t raced over flights since last October, and the extra bit of distance of this event should help Enda Bolger’s charge. Thatbeatsbanagher’s chase rating stands at 101, he competes here off 94, and he can build on his Killarney fencing effort. At the County Kerry track the five-year-old selection raced prominently. A little awkward at the first, the Flemensfirth gelding jumped slightly right at the second and he was bumped. Coming with his effort in the straight Thatbeatsbanagher was one paced at the last when three parts of a length and four lengths off Holly Flight and Dundeedy Lad. There was the promise of more to come from the youngster.
