FormscanBy Eamonn Murphy - How exactly you’d play this event I’m not sure, but for a selection I’ll row in behind HONEYSUCKLE. The three time course and distance winning symbol stands out strongly against Honeysuckle’s name, as it does in fairness with Apple’s Jade as she attempts to win this race for the fourth year in succession. The nod for Honeysuckle is obviously because she’s on the up and up, whilst some of the rest are hardly improving, and may well be going the other way in fact. Those against Henry de Bromhead’s Sulamani mare will point to the fact that she’s only five and just out of novice company. On the other hand Honeysuckle possesses all the promise in the world and she hasn’t put a hoof wrong so far. With Paul Townend up Bacardys looks best of Willie Mullins’ trio, and the Coastal Path gelding was good when beating Apple’s Jade in the Lismullen at Navan. It’s nice to see 2018 Stayers’ Hurdle hero Penhill back after a lengthy absence and it’ll be interesting to see what what he moves in the market. Davids Charm could be a bit of value at around 20/1. He’s been on the go since the spring though.
