FormscanBy Alan Magee - Empire State was a beaten favourite three times last year including when runner-up to stablemate Albuquerque with some cut in the ground at Gowran Park. The Scat Daddy colt was prominent throughout on that occasion and should again give a good account. However I prefer to rely on SONAIYLA who showed promise on debut over course and distance last autumn. The daughter of Dark Angel kept on nicely and should progress. The form of that maiden has worked out quite well since and she finished just behind subsequent Leopardstown maiden winner Happen. The Aga Khan is also represented by a couple from the Dermot Weld yard including Baladiya. Castletownshend is a rare mount for Ruby Walsh in a sprint maiden, and ran a cracker on his only juvenile start in the mud over this course and distance. He finished in mid-division in this race 12 months ago and again showed promise in a soft ground maiden at the Curragh.
