FormscanBy Gary Carson - AFAR looks sure to improve plenty from her debut effort at the Curragh and should prove the one to beat now. She came there to challenge a couple of furlongs from home on her initial outing before just fading a touch in the closing stages. Given the way the yard's runners tend to improve from a run she will be expected to step forward a good bit now. My Laureate ran a nice race on her debut when second at Fairyhouse but found things tougher when pitched into Listed company on her second outing in a very hot contest at Leopardstown last Saturday. She looks a talented filly, however, and is probably the danger to the selection. Chestnut Express was only beaten half a length at Navan last time but this looks a stronger contest now. %0A
