The three-year-old gelding was beaten by a neck, in a higher grade, over the same trip of a mile at Leopardstown earlier this month. He has only gone up 1lb and with the fourth home from that contest subsequently winning in Limerick, there should be scope for him to perform well off a mark of 76. Geological brings winning form to the table from Limerick. Stephen Mooney, a 10lb claimer, had his first victory on board the six-year-old gelding and gets the leg up again although he can only claim 7lb in this apprentice race. It's still a big help, though, as Geological was due to carry a welter burden of 10st 6lbs. He has to rate a danger as he is comfortably the highest rated horse in this field. Wexford Opera's mark has been dropping and he could do damage as he wasn't beaten far in Fairyhouse. In addition, he wasn't disgraced in much better company on his penultimate start.
