FormscanBy Eamonn Murphy - I remember being pretty surprised to see the level of support that arrived for MON STORM when he ran at Fairyhouse on April 7th. There were a few that I had before Victor Wilson’s gelding on that occasion but from much longer earlier he hardened from as big as 8/1 on track into a returned 5/1. In the race itself the son of September Storm raced in ninth early, and he was pushed along between horses approaching three out. There he found himself without much room and made a mistake. The eight-year-old then kept on at the same pace from between the last two. Over thirteen lengths off winner Scotch Quay in seventh position, Mon Storm saw his mark reduced from 90 back to 89. He should be right on the premises now with Donie McInerney up to help with his three pound claim. Not surprisingly for an event of this nature, there are plenty of others that need considering too.
