The Arcadio gelding likely faces nothing of the calibre of Saint Roi, the horse that beat him comprehensively at Tramore on New Year’s Day. At the Graun Hill venue Arcadian Sunrise tracked the leaders on the outer and he took a keen hold. Closer in third halfway, John Queally’s charge made progress to lead briefly before two out. Soon headed the six-year-old was ridden and making no impression on the winner before the last. Keeping on at the one pace after, the selection went down by nine lengths. Denis O’Regan takes the reins for the first-time now and the Waterford runner is likely to settle nicely in his hands. Arcadian Sunrise’s half-sister Marie’s Rock (by Milan) is making waves in England. The likes of Behind The Curtain, Whatsnotoknow and Wingin A Prayer are others to keep in mind.
