An update from Galway’s clerk of the course Shane Ryder ahead of the final day of the 2026 Galway Festival.

The opening race is scheduled for 1.50pm, with the concluding race due off at 5.30pm.

The feature race of the day is the 16:00 Irish Stallion Farms EBF Ahonoora Handicap (Premier Handicap) where Tuesday’s Colm Quinn BMW Mile winner Orandi renew rivalries with previous race winner Dunum and current market leader Pierre Royal who is 4/1.

“We’ve been dry overnight, the goings this morning are good, good to yielding in places on the Hurdles and Chase track, after selective watering last night. The Flat line is yielding, good to yielding in places. The Bumper will be run on the inside track and the going is good. There is a forecasted four or five millimetres of rain today, with some light rain and drizzle here at the moment.”
