Paddy Flood has been in good form with his each-way selections of late, having highlighted Gorgeous Tom at 25-1 who finished 3rd in the Galway Plate yesterday and Sparan Nua at 8-1 in the Irish Oaks, here he gives an each-way tip in today’s feature and a strong fancy from the De Bromhead yard earlier on the card.

Galway Hurdle Each-way Play, 4.30

El Cairos is the idea of the winner for me, and my each-way play would be Helvic Dream mainly because of the course form.

Galway seems to have been a target for Noel Meade in the last couple of years. He does not have as many jumpers anymore.

The horse obviously lost the race last year in the stewards’ room, but I will go back to the fact that I presume Donagh Meyler will ride. Donagh, Noel and the horse all love Galway.

Midnight Jet - following a pair of victories, featuring a Kilbeggan success earlier this season, he enjoyed a brief let-up.

He is an exceptionally straightforward sort who looks like he could eventually progress into graded company.

Any success over timber will be purely a bonus; he possesses size, power, and balance - plenty of attributes to admire.
