Mutasarref has Ahonoora option

Mutasarref could bid to defy top-weight in the final day feature at Galway on Sunday next, the

Irish Stallion Farms EBF 'Ahonoora' Handicap.

Successful in the Listed Platinum Stakes at Cork last season, the Ger Lyons-trained five-year-old was fifth on his return at Naas, finishing fourth in a Group 3 on his most recent outing.

Owned by Eleanora Kennedy, who has had plenty of success in recent months with Warrior Brave, the Dark Angel gelding may now return to handicap company.

"His owner is an absolute lady and she is having great fun," assistant trainer Shane Lyons commented.

"Top weight in a race like that, he is hiding nothing weight-wise so that would be a negative, but if he was to go it would be for the owner to have her day out.

"It is undecided yet. He is rated 105 going into it and there is always somebody well-handicapped in it. He's a proper Group 3 horse."
