Tipperary trainer John Ryan is looking forward to one of his stable stars Gaelic Arc bidding for glory in next weeks Galway Plate.

A five-time winner, the gelding prepped for the Galway feature when narrowly denied at Killarney last week.

Ryan believes that there is more to come from the nine-year-old, who is guaranteed a run in the race this year.

He said: "Gaelic Arc is going for the Galway Plate and gets straight in and can't be balloted as he won a trial. I was left frustrated by his ride at Killarney but he came out of the race well.

"He is a half-brother to Galop Marin who won three Grand Prix d'Automne stayers hurdles in France, so he'll stay at Galway."
