'Harvey' lands a touch in the last After a weekend of top-class action in Classics and other Pattern races at the Curragh, Tony Martin had the last say when landing a real old-fashioned touch in the concluding CAVALOR Equine Nutrition Handicap over a mile and three-quarters. Backed from 25/1 into 17/2 in the show, Westminster Moon did the business under a ground-saving ride from Seamie Heffernan. The well-travelled six-year-old collared Marazion inside the final furlong and went away to score by a length and a-half.  Now for the back story.  Westminster Moon won four races when trained in Poland and went on to be placed in Group company in Germany and Italy for Andreas Wohler. Bought for 260,000 euro in late 2024, eight unplaced Flat runs for present connections, at prices ranging from 22/1 to 100/1, saw his mark drop from 108 to 84. A never-nearer seventh over 1m2f at Cork last month suggested that something might be stirring, and one would think a good portion of his purchase price was recouped today.  Winning trainer Tony Martin reported with typical understatement "He is owned by a lovely man John Breslin and friends of his, and we were a long time waiting with this horse. The horse has had a lot of hiccups along the road, but John is a patient man. "I saw him at the sales in Arqana one day, had a go at buying him and we always had the belief from the time we bought him. He had some great runs, but it took a long time to get there with him.  "We were getting the right vibes from him at home, so the boys had a few pounds on each-way and it worked out well."
