Richard Fahey and Colin Keane combined for a Curragh double in the Tattersalls Ireland Super Auction Sales Stakes with 20/1 chance Shark Two One

Following on from Mr Lupton in the opener, Keane got Shark Two One home by a short head and a neck from Star Of Orion and Belle Image

Star Of Orion looked a hopeless case at a stage, for backers of the 5/4 market-leader. However he finished off well under Ryan Moore, and in the end the Footstepsinthesand gelding just failed.

Keane of course had a brace at Leopardstown yesterday too, including the Group One Matron Stakes aboard Champers Elysees

“He's a lovely little horse. I was talking to Richard earlier and he was a little bit bullish about him. He thought that he had a nice horse coming here and he was right,” said the former champion jockey.

“I probably got there as soon as I wanted to but the horses on our left were coming across and I didn't want the gap to close. When we got into it I sat as long as I could.

“He quickened up well and was probably just getting a little bit lonely coming to the line but you couldn't be happier.”

The Stewards interviewed R.L. Moore, rider of Star Of Orion, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race.

Evidence was heard from the rider concerned.

Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that R.L. Moore was in breach of R10(3)(g) by using his whip with excessive frequency.

Having taken his previous clean record into consideration, the Stewards cautioned R.L. Moore on this occasion.

Furthermore, they also advised him to familiarise himself with the content of Regulation 10 in relation to the use of the whip.

R.P. Whelan, rider of Livingston Range trained by Tracey Collins, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his saddle slipped during this race.
