Ain't That A Shame brought up a pre-Cheltenham double for Rachael Blackmore and Henry De Bromhead when justifying odds on favouritism in the Holden Fleet Management Beginners Chase at Gowran Park.

Sent off at 8/13, the Robcour owned gelding was sent on early by Blackmore and in truth, aside from a couple of slow jumps, never really gave those that took prohibitive odds too many worries.

With the race in safe keeping from three out, the nine-year-old wasn't hard pressed in the latter stages, winning with plenty to spare. Given his handicap experience and 146 rating, it was no surprise to see the De Bromhead runner make light work of these.

Blackmore said:- “He deserved to win that race. It was a good performance and I couldn't be happier with him.

“He handles those conditions and it was a perfect race for him. It's nice to get him off the mark over fences.”
