Star apprentice Dylan Browne McMonagle continued his impressive rate of success this term by completing a 15/1 double aboard Merroir in the featured Irish Stallion Farms EBF (Fillies) Handicap on what was the young rider's first visit to Ballinrobe.

The Letterkenny native, also successful earlier on Fearless Girl sent the Joseph O’Brien-trained four-year-old to the front about three furlongs from home in this near 1m5f event.

The 3/1 joint favourite drew clear along with Port Sunlight entering the straight and kept on well to hold that rival by half a length.

The pair stretched eight and a half lengths clear of Ivy Avenue in third.

Browne McMonagle, now on the 22 winner mark for the season and 12 clear in the apprentice title race, has just two winners left before losing his 5lb claim and said, "That was very straight-forward. She’s very genuine and she’d gallop all day.

"I knew she would stay well and she hit the line well."
