Butterfly Wings completes a treble for O'Brien & Lordan Butterfly Wings opened her account at the fourth time of asking in the It’s Family Day At Leopardstown Fillies Maiden to complete a treble on the afternoon for Wayne Lordan and Aidan O’Brien at the south County Dublin track. The beautifully bred daughter of Justify out of a Galileo mare was ridden to lead over a furlong out and took command inside the final 150 yards. The 2/1 chance kept on strongly under Lordan to beat Diamond Exchange by four lengths with Etawa a further length and a half back in third. O’Brien was represented by Chris Armstrong who said, “She had run in a couple of very good maidens, and we thought she might have won by now. “Hopefully that win will give her the confidence to send her to the next level. “Wayne felt she was grand at that trip, but the best would probably be when she goes up to a mile and a half which gives plenty of options. “It’s great to get the maiden win and we’ll see where she fits in with the other fillies and try to get some black type.” Lordan and O’Brien were on the mark earlier with Roosevelt and Group 3 Derby Trial winner Delacroix, while the Ballydoyle maestro also won the French 2000 Guineas with Henri Matisse.
