Camphor updated her form figures to 321 with success in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Maiden at Navan for Jessica Harrington and Shane Foley.

The daughter of Camelot was well-backed to do so as well, finding a starting price of 11/4 from an opening show on track of 9/2.

There were a few that held chances until late on in this mile and a quarter event but Camphor was strongest inside the last to get the better of Simply Beautiful and favourite Kiss For A Jewel by three parts of a length and half a length.

Mrs Harrington revealed afterwards: “She loved travelling in behind and Shane said as soon as she got to the front she pricked her ears.

“He was very happy with her. It looked a very good maiden and everything was fancied in it.

“A lot of them had good form but her run in the Cork maiden worked out well.

“She appreciated that little bit of give in the ground, being a Camelot, and the rain came in time for her.

“We'll see where we go but judging by the others she could make up into a Listed class filly.

“She'll stay well. She's okay at a mile-and-a-quarter at the moment but will stay a mile-and-a-half.”

R.P. Cleary, rider of Grace De Dieu trained by Tracey Collins, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount was pulled up on leaving the back straight after the saddle had slipped.

A.J. Farragher, rider of Maccliff trained by Gerard Michael Hussey, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount was slow and awkward in getting into stride on leaving the starting stalls.
