Helvic Dream is set to take his chance in the QIPCO Champion Stakes at Ascot on October 15th.

The five-year-old provided Noel Meade with his first Group 1 success in the Tattersalls Gold Cup in May of last year, but was a disappointing last of eight when attempting to defend his crown.

Not seen since that effort on May 22nd, the son of Power is now likely to return to action at Ascot provided the ground is soft.

"The Champion Stakes is the plan," Meade revealed.

"The softer the better, but sure we have a couple of weeks. We are just starting to build him up again.

"We've no chance against Baaeed but if he got money, it would be great. If we get soft ground, we will take our chance."
