Cock And Bull is a no-nonsense stayer Sent off the 7/2 joint-favourite for Galway's concluding two-mile handicap, Cock And Bull produced a gritty effort to land the spoils under Sam Coen. A four-time winner for Michael Bell, the grey son of Make Believe was fitted with a tongue-tie for the first time and raced in mid-division, before making progress on the downhill run from four furlongs out. Outpaced briefly in the dip, he was ridden to lead a furlong out and stayed on in determined fashion to hold Yorkshire raider Wahraan (28/1) by a neck. The other joint-favourite Ben Hur, who had got in as a reserve, finished a further five and a half lengths back in third in what was a well strung-out field in the end.  “It was great. He had a nice run the last day in the Curragh and it was nice to be able to step up from it,” said winning trainer Emmet Mullins. “We’d originally thought that he might scrape into the Connacht Hotel on the Monday night, but the ratings were a bit higher this year. “He was spot on for today and it was great to see him stick his neck out. He’s a very tough and genuine horse. He’s a pleasure. “The horses are running well. We’ve had a second and a few thirds and it’s great to get one on the board.
