Coney Island could make one of the Irish spring festivals at Fairyhouse or Punchestown following his creditable effort at Cheltenham.

Trainer Eddie Harty will see how the eight-year-old, owned by JP McManus, is closer to the two big meetings before making a decision.

The Curragh handler was satisfied with Coney Island’s performance to finish sixth behind Frodon in the Ryanair Chase and reports him to be in good form.

“He came out of Cheltenham well. He ran quite well. We were happy with the run — we could have been happier, but all in all it was a good run,” said Harty.

“He came back in good form. As regards the rest of the season, I’m not sure yet. The ground is getting drier.

“We’ll see what’s there at Fairyhouse and Punchestown and see what kind of form he’s in and make a decision based on that.”
